As a prior client of posture therapy, I know how life-changing this therapy can be. Working a posture therapist since 2015, I was seeing results but noticed that not everyone was as excited about therapeutic exercises as I was. (Shocker.) It was a struggle for clients to relate the exercises to their daily lives and get the real value out of them, therefore I didn’t always see the results I knew we could achieve, leaving the client potentially frustrated as well. (For those that stayed consistent with their homework, we did see many positive changes!)
I have been a massage therapist since 2011 and have seen and felt amazing results with hands on work but structurally, these results just don’t tend to stick. I’m all for massage and love receiving it myself but massage work alone many times leaves clients with the same painful symptoms for years.
This is when I started developing strategies to help clients find treatments that suit them and can fit more into their lifestyle to create consistent habits, and ultimately make better progress towards our goals.
At True Muscle, I focus on empowering you to create beneficial changes in your posture, not just feed you lists of exercises. Together we will find creative ways to keep you mindful of your posture work without taking up your whole day, but instead enable you to more fully enjoy all the activities you want to pursue in life. This still involves committment from you!
I offer a variety of products and services to help facilitate that change - when you are ready to take that step.
My philosophyI use a triangular approach, looking at Biological (the body), Physical (our physical environment), and Behavioral (the mind and spirit) aspects as they cannot be separated and all play a role in our health and the symptoms we experience.
I have a B.S. in Hospitality and Tourism Management with a Minor in Sports Management… neither have much to do with what I do now! After college is when I started to feel the calling into the healing profession and completed my Massage Therapy Program from a local community college in 2011. Since then I have been dedicated to learning as much as I can to better understand how our body functions and how I can best help clients as a therapist via some of the certifications listed below.
Not all of these categories need to be addressed when symptoms are present, but all should be considered especially if symptoms are chronic.
